Company History
eps was formed in
Frankfurt,
Germany
in 1998 by Christian Jaron.
Having understood the concerns of the industry and the direction in which electronic
payments were going, it was clear that payment service providers needed a new IT
strategy to compete in the evolving market. The IT strategy needed to be cost effective
and adaptable in order to support the expected large number of new payment channels.
Consequently, eps began developing a product to meet the anticipated market requirements.
During 1999, eps acquired a team of experts who had much experience in deploying
and operating the legacy systems used by most processors, in addition to a core
of Open technology development personnel. The resulting combination of skills enabled
eps to develop ASx, their flagship authorization and switching platform.
By October 2000, eps had acquired their first ASx customer and completed the implementation.
More successful installation projects followed in the succeeding years. The organization
grew internationally, with headquarters in
Frankfurt
,
Germany
and offices in the
United
Kingdom
,
Switzerland
and
Romania
.
In June 2006, eps was acquired by Transaction Systems
Architects, Inc.(Nasdaq: TSAI), provider of
ACI Worldwide enterprise electronic payments solutions.
